These Terms are an agreement between you and Vakil Ventures LLC (“Carefully,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing Carefully, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Carefully was previously named PawCast; references to PawCast in an older app version, receipt, system identifier, or legacy URL refer to the same service and operator.
Safety comes first. PawScore, weather, pavement estimates, Outlook windows, alerts, and other guidance are informational estimates. They are not a guarantee of safety, a diagnosis, treatment, or veterinary advice. Conditions and dogs can change quickly. Observe your dog, inspect the environment, use your judgment, and contact a veterinarian when appropriate.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live if it is higher, and legally able to enter this agreement. Carefully is intended for adult dog parents. Provide accurate information, protect access to your email and devices, and notify us of unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
What the current Carefully release provides
Carefully is a dog-care companion for creating and maintaining dog profiles, preparing and checking off Vet questions, logging routine Care, viewing current weather and PawScore, comparing hourly Outlook windows, reviewing available pavement and air-quality context, managing reminders and preferences, and using account controls including account deletion. Availability and accuracy can vary by place, device, connectivity, permissions, profile completeness, data freshness, and third-party service.
Weather and outdoor context
Location is optional. If you request current-location conditions, you authorize Carefully to use device location for that request. You may instead search for a city, and you can revoke location permission in device settings. Weather, air quality, pavement estimates, PawScore, and Outlook may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or wrong. Check the update time and compare Carefully with current official guidance and the conditions around you before making a decision.
Vet questions, profiles, and routine Care
Vet questions and Care entries help you organize information you provide. Keep important veterinary instructions in an appropriate primary record, enter details accurately, and correct or remove an entry when it changes. A checked question means only that you marked it complete; it does not verify medical advice or an outcome. Carefully does not practice veterinary medicine and is not an emergency service.
Features not available in the current release
The current release does not offer Vet-visit recording or transcription, AI visit summaries, medical-record import or chat, household sharing or invitations, GPS route tracking, or a Carefully+ purchase, paywall, or restore flow. Do not rely on an older screenshot, description, app route, receipt, test account, or retained record as a promise that one of these features is available now.
Legacy data and store entitlements
Data created through an earlier release or test account may remain associated with your account until that data or the account is deleted. These Terms and our Privacy Policy continue to govern retained data. Retention does not mean the current app can create, import, share, process, or display every legacy data type.
If a recording was created through an earlier release or test account, this responsibility still applies to that legacy content: You may record only when you have the legal right and all required consent to do so; you are responsible for obtaining consent from every person whose consent is required. This rule does not mean recording is available in the current release.
The current release does not sell or restore a subscription. Apple or Google may still retain a PawCast-era transaction, renewal, expiration, or entitlement record, and an older store subscription may continue until you cancel it with that store. A retained entitlement does not make a disabled feature available.
- Manage existing Apple or Google billing through the store account used for the original purchase.
- Deleting Carefully or your Carefully account does not automatically cancel billing managed by Apple or Google.
- Refunds and billing disputes are governed by the store through which you purchased.
- Contact support@carefully.pet if an older entitlement appears incorrect.
Your content and license
You retain ownership of dog-profile information, Vet questions, Care entries, notes, and other material you provide. You grant Carefully a limited, worldwide license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that material only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide it. The same limited license applies to retained content created through an earlier release while it remains on the service.
Acceptable use
Do not use Carefully to violate law or another person’s rights; access another account without permission; upload malicious or unlawful content; interfere with the service; scrape, probe, reverse engineer, or bypass protections except where law expressly permits; or use automated means that impose unreasonable load. We may limit or suspend access to protect users or the service.
Third-party services
Carefully relies on services such as weather and place providers, app stores, identity providers, email delivery, hosting, monitoring, and analytics. Their terms may also apply. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
Termination and deletion
You may stop using Carefully and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, security risk, unlawful conduct, or discontinuation of the service. Sections that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and dispute terms—continue after termination.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carefully is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, continuous availability, or accuracy. Vakil Ventures LLC and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or harm resulting from reliance on recommendations. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that law does not permit us to exclude.
Changes and applicable law
We may change Carefully or these Terms. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when appropriate. Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections where you live continue to apply.
